Dining pods at Fabbrica
Dutch design studio Tjep, revisited several elements for the restaurant Fabbrica in Bergen. The cozy, elevated dining pods transports us back to a time of forts and makeshift tree houses. The lovely cabins have a new look and feel compared to the ones they had made for Fabbrica Rotterdam, a larger Pizza Oven covered with beautiful Bisazza tiles, and the very industrial wood containers that hold all the wood to fuel the oven and all the electricity to fuel the lights! We love the Urban look which gives it a more earthly feel. Natural light floods in through an expanse of open windows and arched glass atrium, giving the space a greenhouse-like feel.
As for the general look, they decided to take a less glossy and shiny approach as compared to Fabbrica Rotterdam. In Bergen they show materials instead of using painted surfaces. Tjep also considered the economic context of the moment. It’s not time for Bling Bling anymore, people want more authenticity!
