EXPOSED!
The second party of Flemish Foodies is called BLOOT! or EXPOSED! in English.
A small-group consisting of a writer, a photographer and three young chefs are working hard to renew Flemish gastronomy. They are certainly popular: the 250 tickets for Exposed! were sold out in eleven minutes. An impression of a night full of highlights.
There is an air of mystery surrounding the event, something is cooking… the menu and even the location until the very last minute remains secret. The location will be announced after our car is parked in a car-park in Ghent.
Exposed! is set in a dressed factory. Imagine a huge white “underpants napkins” on long tables set in groups of sixteen. People were instructed to bring a gift like they do for their friends. Relaxed atmosphere was felt all around complemented by imaginative culinary surprises and not bound by the house rules of the restaurant!
Some dishes were served in bowls and placed on large wooden frames meant to be shared. The creations are on the edge of decency. The biggest eye catcher was “The topic and the landmark” served in glittering glass jars in which live shrimp had a swim. The boldest of all was the mini scoop net to catch your live catch and deep it in a tasty dipping sauce and eat it.
