Noble Handcrafted Maple Syrup

Maple syrup seems like one of those things you can’t make any better—sweet, completely natural and unrefined, its delicious caramel flavor makes everything from pancakes to salad dressings taste fantastic. Well, we’ve found an improvement on the original. Two actually – Bourbon Barrel and Tahitian Vanilla Bean & Egyptian Chamomile Blossom Matured Maple Syrup. Both are made in small batches from premium maple syrup and all-natural flavors, and are bottled to look like they were plucked from the shelf of a nineteenth century general store.

The process starts with maple sap from a traditional “cabane à sucre” (sugar shack) in Quebec, where trees are tapped early in the spring, as soon as the weather is warm enough for the sap to liquefy. The sap is then boiled down to syrup, as it has been for generations.

To create the Bourbon syrup (a.k.a. Noble Tonic 01), a dash of raw Tuthilltown bourbon is added before the syrup is aged in oak barrels. Smooth and creamy tasting, it’s a grown-up take on maple. Tahitian vanilla beans and apple-scented Egyptian chamomile blossoms are added to the Vanilla syrup (a.k.a. Noble Tonic 02), resulting in a delicately balanced, fruity-floral tasting sweetener.

The syrups are produced by Noble Handcrafted, which works with boutique producers, artisan craftspeople and sustainable farms to source small-batch, high quality foods. “We believe in quality and craft over production and profit,” says Noble co-founder Tyler Gray. To make these syrups, he and his team, sampled maple syrup from dozens of sugar shacks before finding the one that they wanted to work with. http://mikuniwildharvest.com/
